Alistair Leathwood, Managing Director, FreshMinds Talent
Alistair joined FreshMinds in October 2005 as Commercial Director and in 2007 became Managing Director of FreshMinds Talent. Alistair oversees every aspect of FreshMinds’ recruitment business and manages a team of 30 staff. As Managing Director, Alistair is focused on growing the business and making the company increasingly consultative in its offering to clients. Before joining FreshMinds he was Deputy Managing Director of Datamonitor’s Technology Practice. In a period spanning 9 years, Alistair has worked across a wealth of different technology and market sectors. He has delivered presentations and training courses in Europe, the US and Asia. Prior to Datamonitor, Alistair was with the Thomson Corporation, where he worked in a variety of consulting and management roles.
Alistair has a degree in Natural Sciences and a post-graduate degree in the History and Philosophy of Science from Cambridge University. He has an overly competitive spirit and likes anything that involves sport, the outdoors and risk of serious injury. Alistair is the proud father of Jack and destined to be the father who takes sports day a little too seriously.
Phillippa Dunlop, Senior Recruitment Consultant, FreshMinds Talent
Phillippa joined the recruitment team at FreshMinds in 2003 having spent four years at a niche recruitment firm within the management consultancy field. She specialises in working with executive candidates, particularly within the areas of strategy and management consultancy. Phillippa is particularly well known for her ability to help senior candidates who are looking to change direction within their careers. She has helped numerous executives negotiate a successful move from senior positions within consultancies into executive level positions within industry. Phillippa holds a degree in Classics from Cambridge University. When she’s not working, Phillippa admits that football takes up a disproportionate amount of time although she still finds the energy to run 10km for charity on a regular basis.
Soraya Janmohamed, Account Manager, FreshMinds Talent
Soraya joined FreshMinds in 2005 as an Account Manager and then in 2007 began to specialise in helping clients attract, retain and develop graduate, executive and interim talent. Prior to joining FreshMinds, Soraya used her legal training skills to help a leading legal recruitment firm set up a team placing lawyers in private practice. At FreshMinds Talent, Soraya focuses on helping clients within financial and professional services and the oil and gas sector. As well as project managing every aspect of the recruitment cycle from concept design through to delivery, Soraya helps an increasing number of big name clients devise ongoing strategies for recruiting high calibre intakes. Soraya graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in Economic and Social History. Although she has represented Kenya at tennis and swimming, she is yet to fulfil her ambition of paragliding with water-skis and landing on water.
Holly Brown, Recruitment Specialist, FreshMinds Talent
After graduating from Warwick with a degree in French and Italian, Holly joined FreshMinds. As a Candidate Specialist, Holly works within the graduate team advising candidates on launching their careers within fields ranging from finance to strategy. Holly is also jointly responsible for finding the UK’s future business leaders through Ones to Watch, FreshMinds’ annual graduate peer nomination survey. In summer 2007, Holly returned to FreshMinds part-time after the birth of her first child.
James Callander, Head of Interim Talent, FreshMinds Talent
As Head of Interim Talent, James looks after temporary placements at FreshMinds Talent. After launching the product in 2004, James and his team have provided a lifeline to top-tier consultancies, public and private sector organisations in the form of interim consultants available at the drop of a hat. James has a passion for innovation and in his role as Head of Innovation for FreshMinds, works with the group’s founders on new product and business ideas. Prior to joining FreshMinds in 2003, James completed an internship at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. James holds a degree in Geography from Edinburgh University. He is a qualified Cordon Bleu cook and recently completed the Stockholm Marathon.
